This little gentleman is Master L... he is 6 months old and if you scroll down you will see we attempted a photoshoot during nap time, so we did a re shoot... this time was WAYYY better, unfortunately it was HOT HOT HOT and completely mosquito ridden but we got his photo's none the less... isn't he a darling????

We went from a crank pot and a wee boy desperately wanting a nap

To then a cute facemaker 5 seconds later, unfortunately his nap crankiness won out and we are gonna do his session again this week..... AFTER his nap!!! 

I have a funny story about this munchkin.. his mama sent me an updated picture of him and another sweet babe.. a little chunk of a babe at that.. so I was staring at the picture and felt really dumb... I said to my husband... ummmmmm is it bad if I have no clue which baby is baby L??? lol seriously he does not even resemble his newborn state lol.... Then when I went to do his session, his mama was standing there with a GORGEOUS new haircut... good thing they did not ask me to meet them in some crowded mall or something... 

A bit about us and the reason to book a session today

 I am a mama to 3 kidlets ages 12, 10 and 4, very very busy with life and I love it!!

He is the Daddy to the same 3 kids and just as busy in life

I like steak, I prefer salty stuff over candy and sweets

He likes... hmm I forgot to ask..

I am from Toronto but, will stay in Edmonton I am sure forever!!

He is from Edmonton, born and raised

I am afraid to fly, and I mean afraid... I do it but I am a wreck like you would not believe!!!

He is not afraid of anything.. or so he says

I have a motto is that life is so short that you need to live it to its fullest, I even h ave tattoo's to prove it!

He follows my motto.. refuses to get a tattoo



I love meeting new clients and LOVE my original clients, some have become great friends.

He is too shy and lets me make all the friends, then tags along when I drag him out for a drink or 2 with those cool clients

I am afraid to photograph newborns... No really I am, they scare the pants off me... but only in the photography aspect as most of you know I am a maternity nurse so obviously I work around newborns all the time.

He never comes to the newborn shoots, but probably would do great.

I love vineyards and would frequent everyone in canada if I could... If you know of any good ones let me know.

He is an 1873 fan, but they discontinued it, if you find any let us know that too

It was hard to capture all his expressions because they changed so darn quickly, lol I am not the baby photographer in Tonikka J.. that gift belongs to KL bezooyen, as she is my assistant and does 99% of all our newborns... but this time I thought why the heck not, I am only catching faces right??

Check out these shoes below... aren't they awesome?? They cost a bundle and his mama just informed me that because I showed her a new company that creates equally as nice shoes.. she ordered more... UH OHHHH ...shall I say shoe fetish??

I just couldn't help it... it was either gobble those yummy cheeks or photograph his shoes...lol shoes it was...

He gave me this look because he caught a mad case of the hiccups... poor boy

He looked so determined, lol those darn hiccups lasted 1/2 hour.. crazy huh?? you should hear him burp... OMG man burps!!! HEE HEE

I really love when my clients want advice on what to wear to a family photography session. My advice is always the same, Don't match BUT chose a color scheme. By color scheme, I don’t mean matching every article of clothing. In fact, I highly discourage that!  Say you want to choose the color Red. Then the mother wear a shade of red, The father could wear a navy blue top to keep it a bit more masculine and the child should wear a top that incorporates similar blues and reds, stripes perhaps? Thats just an example of many outfit types, I say be comfortable and wear what you would wear normally, if you don't normally wear a suit then a fancy dancy suit wouldn't be suitable to you... I say this because I capture with alot of photo journalistic opportunities.... example you and junior playing in the leaves... can you imagine doing that in a suit??? Kids also look good in bright fun colours, plus it sure can pop your picture.

Aren't they Cute?? This was a family that we photographed in the fall for a pregnancy/newborn shoot... they were the cutest couple, and in December welcomed Little miss E into their family, now its the new year and They are ready for some family photo's.... Can't wait to photograph them again soon!!!

I just love the funny expressions that babies give, stay tuned for mr T that will be coming up soon, he has the craziest faces EVER!!! I love it.

This picture above is a film picture that I scanned in so sorry its not the greatest looking... I just love capturing those moments that are so rare!!!

My youngest child is 3 years old and FULL of energy, if anyone knows me personally they know how she is...lol Its sooo funny but so draining.

Little miss monkey (thats what I call her) is pretty smart, and I am not saying that because I am biased but its true, thanks to her siblings who are 12 and 10 yrs old, I think she feels she needs to keep up with them and thats why she is years beyond her 3 years.

She has had an odd first 3 years medically, 3 times her Lungs have collapsed and its still un diagnosed as to why it keeps happening, but its been over 9 months since her last lung flare up.

However today I noticed she was feeling out of sorts and immediately thought bladder infection, she showed some signs and symptoms (I am a nurse, forgive me if i break into nurse speak) But then by dinner all went away, we actually put her to bed late at 9 pm and she kept getting up to go pee.. I looked at my husband and said, I bet its an infection, literally within 10 minutes it all went haywire.. 

We rushed her over to the medicenter near our house and they did a urine test, I have seen some nasty urine but was un prepared for little miss monkey's urine, the doctor said "Its the worst bladder/UTI infection I have EVER seen," maybe she felt she could be frank with me because I work with her in obstetrics at the hospital??

They are worried it will go into her kidneys so they put her on 2 different powerful antibiotics and we have to watch her for 24 hours, meaning she has to sleep in my room etc....

I am very excited to blog this next session.... Meet Darren, been in the Hospital FOREVER!!!! This latest stay is just one of many over the years

Thank goodness for laptops otherwise I am sure he would have gone crazy, This latest hospital stay has been since january 7th 2010 and FULL of craziness

Darren had a fake knee and caught an infection and spent most of last year in the hospital fighting a loosing battle....so this time they decided to just take out the metal knee and see if they can heal it thata way, they replaced the knee with a ball of cement, trust me its eewwwwy when he moves it, the leg makes a clunking sound. Even made my husband almost faint!!!!

Im pretty sure he just got his Morphine shot here, just look at that smile creeping on his face...lol. The infection cleared up!!!! YAY!!! or not so yay, now that the infection was gone someone decided that it would be a good idea to take part of Darrens calf and stick it in the hole in the knee... Ladies if you wanna pull his leg or tickle his calf ya better do it at the knee cap area cuz thats where he now feels his calf...lol its funny!!

Ya I was right, Morphine kicked in. In 5 min he was asleep, but then 5 min after that he was wide awake asking "hey when did you get here????" lol 2 hours ago mr Morphine 

The one good thing about his hospital stay is that he was in a semi private room which means roommates, in Darrens case thats a good thing otherwise it gets very lonely. His roommates ranged from 30yrs old to 80 yrs old, to funny and nice to grumpy and angry.

Meet Jeff, Jeff is 29 and a good looking dude.... Ok I am Biased cuz I know him really well, lol,

He is a pretty shy dude and I really had to twist his arm to do this photoshoot "Im not model material  yadda yadda yadda"  He caved obviously. I dont think you need to be "model " material to have a good picture, He really liked the urban grunge look (if your wondering why the pics are all "dirty" ) And I think he looks great, refused to smile.. but I did catch a few, even if I had to throw a few snowballs at him... yup I did!!!

Jeff is lucky enough (well lucky for me) to live on a working farm, a Buffalo farm... lucky for me because I borrow his barn, broken down  cars and cool fences to do some of my photography, maybe not so lucky for him because he has to do some pretty grimy stuff on that farm.... ugh!!!

It was a pretty muddy day when we did this shoot... So I donned my work boots and we trudged thru the mud, and the wind.... oh the wind, it was soooooo WINDY!!! good thing he doesn't have long hair eh??

Grrrrr this blog is making me go insane, I add pictures, they are huge, no matter which way I shrink the pics, they become pixelated.... GOSH I wish I knew how to use a wordpress blog... Isnt she a cutie patootie?? This photograph was taken by my assistant and friend KL... she helps me loads, in weddings, family/group photo's... some beloved newborn photography and most of all she is my friend. So I am really not sure what the best way to do this blog is... how bout I ask the viewers.... do you like FULL size pictures? or do you like seeing the smaller pictures?? I kind of like the medium or smaller otherwise I feel you are looking up whomever is in the pictures nose...lol ha ha ha... ok not funny but well I am tired!!! anyway now that I have a new lap top I can sit in the living room with the husband and edit instead of putting it off till I am alone (with 3 kids thats impossible) So finally you will be seeing more fun and interactive blog posts... YAY me!!!! now to go update my facebook and personal blog!!!
